Intorduction/Thesis: Parenting
is an issue where there is no real right or wrong way to do things. A person’s
social and cultural background will largely shape their approach to parenting.
Many cultures believe in staunch discipline and harsh physical consequences;
many others believe in the opposite, only giving attention to the positives and
bolstering a child’s sense of self. The most recent evidence supports a middle
ground: Parents affirming children’s strong suits while still maintaining
healthy limit setting. Finding a middle ground and moderation for both ends of
the spectrum is where children seem to flourish the most.

Conclusion: Parenting is an issue that is
divisive and complicated, but when a person follows a system that is in
alignment with their personal beliefs and what is in the best interest of the
child they can never truly do wrong. Children need love, limit setting and
support in order to grow and flourish.
